We love devices. In fact many cannot imagine life without them. Devices are everywhere and it seems like we add new ones every month of every year. The world of technology is fantastic and suddenly new devices become desirable, needed or sometimes even an essential part of our lifes.
It feels like the time has come to stop stating the obvious. The world has changed. That’s a fact. It’s no longer about whether we want to join the revolution but how and with what attitude. Those of us who realise it early – win. Embracing this new reality requires a set of skills.
There are many important questions that we all want to start asking ourselves at this point
- What skills do I have to manage the flow of information?
- What skills do I want to develop?
- What attitude do I have towards change and how am I planning to manage myself?
- Do I still know and remember how to switch off all of the new technology devices in order to switch off myself?
- What do I want to do in order to maintain balance?
It’s the last day of April today. The month of seeing, noticing and acknowledging what’s inside us and what’s outside. Spring is everywhere and even if you tried very hard not to notice, it won’t work. It’s there clearly, brightly and beautifully. What signs of it have you seen?
It seems like we’re caught now between the real simplicity of life and the new world of technology. And we already have so much – we have the strength. Strength that lies in our ability to choose where our attention goes. It’s a conscious decision. Our body, mind and spirit will alert us when it’s time to stop running. But do we notice these signs? Do we understand the message and always choose what’s best for us? During lunch break do you go for a walk in a park or do you choose to spend an hour surfing the internet on your mobile? At the end of a long day do you go for a walk or do you sit in front of your TV?
The world of devices that recharge you
It’s a decision to forget about the world of technology for a while and look around to see the real world. The world of those other devices that we don’t need to charge. They recharge us. Do you use them? They are there, generous and available to all of us. The sky, the moon, the sun, the clouds the earth, flowers, grass, trees, plants, birds, fresh air, fresh fruits, water… smile 🙂
See you in the park!
