How coaching has added value to my life:
We are constantly being distracted in the 21st century, with “the busyness of life”. At least this is how I felt before coaching.
Coaching has taught me that well-being needs to be put back front and centre of our own lives so that we are the drivers in our own lives, ‘living’ in the here and now. In our busy, world, where change is the only sure constant, reflection, mindfulness, spirituality, whatever word one likes to put on it is so important. For me, learning to slow down and to truly connect was key.
What does it mean to feel connected?
In our post-modern world the “hunger to belong” as John O’Donoghue so eloquently put it has rarely been more intense, more urgent. I see this daily in my working life. We have never had so much technology at our disposal, internet, mobile phones etc; a connected world, and yet there is so much disconnection, loneliness, longing. Our world is one in which people continually strive for meaning, for purpose, for personal development, for performance. Coaching is a way in which people can come to realise their own potential.
We humans really do better when we are together.
Or as one of my favourite quotes puts it, ‘ní neart go cur le chéile’ (in unity lies strength).

Working in the educational sector I have been involved in the care and education of young people. Every day I see that human connection is so important. It allows a space for real purpose and meaning.
In coaching too, it is about being truly connected to our own lives. I believe having this awareness of purpose and meaning allows for growth and optimum performance.
As a qualified professional coach, who has also completed the Advanced Coaching with Neuroscience, I have a real curiousity about people and love seeing people realise their own full potential.
