Ask the Expert
Answers from Lisa Butler,
December Coach of the Month
PSG: How do you keep up the level of courage and energy necessary to meet your stretch goals?Lisa: I do this through awareness and presence, intuition, creativity, curiousity and flexibility. It includes making mistakes and being resiliant enough to learn from them and to keep going. For me, it is a holistic approach. My ‘head, heart and gut’ need to be in alignment everyday. I check in with myself to make sure I really am ‘walking my talk’. Building connected relationships and having an ever-growing mindset is paramount to me in this modern world. |
PSG: What have been your best ‘support systems’ in terms of keeping you motivated to continually learn and grow?Lisa: People – family, close friends, that inner circle of people who I am so grateful to have. Continuous professional development keeps me motivated. I am always amazed at the wealth of knowledge and learning that is out there. Being part of QCC is a fabulous opportunity to connect and to see “what’s next” in the exciting world of coaching. |
PSG: What can we do as coaches to honour our true selves in our coaching practice?Lisa: When we give credence to and are really aware of that voice deep within, that inner voice, that presence – it paves the way for honouring our true selves and living a meaningful and authentic life.

Working in the educational sector I have been involved in the care and education of young people. Every day I see that human connection is so important. It allows a space for real purpose and meaning.
In coaching too, it is about being truly connected to our own lives. I believe having this awareness of purpose and meaning allows for growth and optimum performance.
As a qualified professional coach, who has also completed the Advanced Coaching with Neuroscience, I have a real curiousity about people and love seeing people realise their own full potential.
