Did you know that one neuron in our brain makes about 10.000 connections with other neurons?. Furthermore, the average human brain has about 100 billion neurons. This facts fascinates me because it might support another fact: Our brain is extremely social. Scientist now days refers to the brain as a social organ, because human evolution depended on our social skills to survive and to become what we are today. Therefore, imagining 100 billion neurons making connections within the brain lead me to reflect about relationships. Because in a way our neurons are living in a relationship.
When we connect to another human being – like neurons inside our social brain do – energy and information flows. And through this exchange of energy-information the mind gets the opportunity to interact to the outside world. Imagine a flow of energy from inside your brain flowing to the outside, returning in and going out, again and again. This feedback works within a loop system, the energy-information flows to connect a brain to another brain, a mind with another mind. We relate to one another human, animal or event within this energy-information flow.
Our human brain is all about connection. Our nervous system has evolved to allow our brain gather information from other human and predict values such as trust, kindness or sincerity; just to mention a few. When you have chemistry with another person, you might feel connected and understood. Your ideas flow back and forward within a trust circle and you feel calm and relax. Harmony is around and you are feeling good. Right?
The relationship you have whit a friend, a family member or your beloved pet, might have an impact in your life. Have you ever wonder: What impact has a positive relationship in your life? Do you think that relationship makes you a better person? or has shaped you who you are?
