Everyone is busy this month getting every last piece of the Summer that’s possible, whilst planning for September, back to school/work with eyes on the final quarter to reach goals set last January. In all of this busyness coupled with the taking of Summer vacation time where we are supposedly recharging, we can get lost in the doing, the getting to our destination.
Many of us are talented at setting and achieving goals and targets but in that process few of us factor in the need to be well so that we can have the sense of being present enough to enjoy the now. To have that sense of all is right on this leg of the journey.
Being present allows us to connect with our inner selves, with the people around us, with the environment and this is not achieved by checking in on what’s happening in the virtual world via our phones. Being present to see the hustle and bustle about us allows to connect in who we are right now, to allow our brain time to take stock of what has happened and what potentially could happen next. It allows us to dream big, discover our vision through connecting with the reality around us, and in us, how we feel and see the possibilities.
Being present allows us to slow down to nurture our bodies and our spirit as we can recognise what is needed for us to thrive at this moment in time. Being present has become even more essential to our well being as the World around us continues to speed up and as we learn how to negotiate our physical and digital spaces.
So if you want to enjoy the ride, the roller-coaster of life that comes with as much richness of experience as we want to reach for. Knowing how to be present in your moment, being well in spirit, in mind, in body and being fully connected with what that looks like, feels like and means to you will ensure you are the most magnificent version of you today.
So what does being present mean for you as we look at the final leg of the journey that is 2017?
