When it comes to taking action, so much time of our precious time can be given to doing the right research, gathering information (at times too much), talking to the people ‘in the know’ to get their expert opinion, reflecting on how you are going to use all the information and then developing the perfect plan. Preparing for your success is absolutely the smart action to take and without planning you cannot be sure you have all the resources required to get to the where you want to go, to realise your goal. However while many of us are awesome at planning and organising, it takes deliberate action and the implementation of the plan to not only to get started but to keep the momentum going right to the realisation of your goal.
It is the small deliberate steps, taken consistently which serve us best and these steps while deliberate will in turn provide support or the foundation when the big leaps are needed to propel the plan forward. With the deliberate action and seeing results comes inner confidence to make the plan a reality but also that agility in preparation and identification of the necessary skills which in turn enables the taking advantage of unexpected opportunities or to go around unexpected bumps in the road. While taking time to reflect on information, people or events and attain clarity on professional and personal development is essential but reflection without commitment to action cannot hope to realisation the benefits of clear purpose.
Moving forward, learning and adding to our knowledge to realise our purpose is a wonderful place to be. Working with people who are positive and who have a desire to realise their potential with deliberate action provides an environment for success. It also creates a sense of fulfillment and contentment that cannot be achieved without deliberate action on your behalf but also with the support of trusted friends, mentors, family and colleagues. Being deliberate in action enables you to be true to yourself, your values, your beliefs and ultimately to be your own leader. It is the deliberate and measured steps committed to and enacted, that make the ultimate difference to realising the success which is yours to define.
So all that remains is to decide what success means to you and ask yourself, what deliberate actions are you willing to commit to so as to forward?
