Keith Ferrazzi posted this quote on Facebook recently: “Everything you do needs to be done with a purpose and for a reason”. It’s a quote from Lewis Howes – an American author, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and former professional Arena League football player.
Ok, let’s make it realistic. Ultimately everything can be done with a sense of purpose and for a reason but we want to start somewhere. Try to ensure that most of what you do meets these criteria. If your life at the moment does not reflect the truth in this quote then start small but start today.
Why is it important? You see…
Something happened yesterday…
and the day before. Something happened last week exactly the way it happened 2 weeks ago, as well as the week before that.
Something happens every day!
So is what happened today, yesterday and the day before what you want to see happen and what you want to make happen?
Stuff, things, events, issues, meetings, and matters. Always and a lot.
Busy being busy is not fair and not right. I get it. It gives us a sense of importance and self value.
And still the most important point remains the same. Simply doing is not enough in terms of your potential.
Is the happening itself the only motivator or is there more?
Is the fact that there are events taking place and situations requiring attention, the only reason we take action?
Yes, these are questions that require a longer pause.
When you read the title of this post, were you intrigued and excited? Were you curious to find out what happened yesterday… and then disappointed to realise that it wasn’t anything special?
And the real question is – what if we live our lives like that sometimes?
Something happened yesterday and today and will happen tomorrow.
Why do you do what you do?
