So here we are introducing the last type of energy in human energy management. We know now about the best practices for physical, emotional and mental wellbeing. Now we want to understand more and learn to renew our Spiritual Energy. It’s the deepest type of energy and it adds sense to our everyday activities. Spiritual energy is the energy of meaning and purpose.
Usually we don’t even recognise meaning and purpose as a potential sources of energy. People benefit from the energy of human spirit when their everyday work is rewarding, their daily activities bring fulfillment and satisfaction and they add a sense of meaning and purpose to our lives. When have you last felt like you are on a mission? Those who tap into their spiritual energy focus better, feel positive and are more consistent and persistent in their actions.
So how can anyone nurture their deep human spirit? How can we experience the value of being attentive to our own deeper needs?
How do you find meaning and purpose?
Do an energy audit and ask yourself:
What matters to me most?
What do I want to be remembered for?
What do I do best and enjoy most at the same time?
What are my values and do my way of living reflects them?
You want to have clarity in terms of your priorities and focus on them in everyday life. The areas that are often most important are family, health, work, service to others. You can be much more specific and identify your own personal priorities in more details.
The best spiritual energy renewing rituals according to the attendees of our Time and Energy Management Workshop are:
- Calling a friend without a reason
- Meeting people and making new friends
- Trying to find something positive in everything we do
- Telling family members and friends that they are important to us
- Saying “Thank you”
- Minimizing time we spend with negative people
- Smiling and being present for others
- Helping others
- Acts of kindness
- Voluntary work
- Asking yourself why you are doing what you are doing
- Thinking creatively about everything we do
You don’t have to invest long hours in these activities to experience fulfillment. Ensure that your schedule is balanced and every day try to do something deeply satisfying that gives you a sense of being truly alive. Behave in a way that reflects your values.
We learn, sometimes painfully, that forgetting our energy is like forgetting ourselves. It only takes time before we start searching for more, before we experience a need for a greater sense of alignment in live that doesn’t necessarily come from a successful career.
The benefits of effective energy management are endless. We can achieve sustainable performance in all areas of holistically considered life, only if we are ready to take stock of energy and introduce some of those energy recharging activities. So make personal changes and maintain enthusiasm and excitement. Notice the results and focus on them. Celebrate levels of success on the way to make energy management your new way of living.
