Everyone talks about it. From our everyday conversations to busy internet space. It can be identified in all areas of life. Some of us are better at defining it, some intentionally avoid looking for a definition. For some it means financial status, for some simply meeting goals and fulfilling dreams.
Success!
Some people declare that they just don’t like success at all. The word itself just doesn’t sound right for them. They don’t use it and don’t want others to use it in their presence. On the other hand, there are people who are all about success. In all areas of life, all shapes and forms, success is them. It defines them and gives their life direction.
For some our company name “Positive Success Group” is too much, others feel an immediate connection.
If this is true that we all look at success differently is there a point in identifying skills that enable success, qualities and personal traits that make achieving success possible? If we all define success in our own way, can we really benefit from those tips and suggestions that can be found all over the news or online?
“5 tips for more successful living”,
“How to achieve more success and be happy today”,
“How to build your own success in 30 days”
There are great intentions behind them and as helpful as they are, is there a point in creating such lists and suggesting solutions. Does one size really fit all?
Richard Branson recently said that if you want to be a successful entrepreneur, you should always build on your own strengths and pursue ideas that interest you.
Great news! So there is no such thing as one perfect way to achieve success. We can model other successful individuals but we don’t have to copy them. We already have our own qualities and personal talents that will enable success – our own way.
So while all the tips and ideas that we hear and read about are helpful, they have to be adapted to our own lives. They are not going to fit until we give them our own meaning and apply them to our own circumstances. One size does not fit all. And it is not that important what name, what term or what label we give success. It’s about the meaning of it – for you. There is only one way to achieve success in life – Your Way.
And you will not be surprised to hear that coaching can help. There is only one coaching approach to success and it’s the client’s approach. We as coaches never define success for others, we don’t suggest meanings. We also never choose paths and options for our clients. We ask questions that enable our clients to pin down exactly their own understanding of all that success related. We ask questions to help clients identify their own previous successes and strategies that worked. So they can build themselves a solid path that will lead to even more success in a future.
So back to you, dear reader – What does success mean for you?
